Skyrim Dawnguard DLC for PS3 Still Has No Release Date

A month ago, Bethesda revealed that they’re having a hard time putting the Dawnguard DLC on the PS3, thus announcing that the DLC will be delayed. This week, Bethesda released another status update and unfortunately, it’s another saddening news as up until now, they still can’t figure out how to put it on the PS3 without having any problems.

Based on the statement of Bethesda below, it looks like that the release date for the Dawnguard DLC is still up in the air. There is no assurance in their statement that Dawnguard will be coming to PS3. So far, it’s still ‘to be determined’. Here’s the statement:

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard’s status for PS3.

It’s been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we’re at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you’re talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we’re working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

  1. I can’t believe they are messing about Playstation 3 gamers like as well myself at a time when most of the world is in economic hardship, its disgracefully dispicable.

I reckon in order to get Playstation 3 gamers back to play their games they should:

Fire Peter Hines – Who is he to play with fans on twitter by using poor excuses that Bethesda cant get Dawnguard up and running for the PS3, He should get it into his stupid head that it was Todd Howard that did the game and not him.

Stop developing everything thats to do with Hearthfire until they have sorted out and released Dawnguard for the PS3.

Refuse to sell or give any 30 day exclusives to Microsoft, after all Skyrim is meant to be a multi platform game.

And most importantly directly apologize to every PS3 Gamer who got Skyrim and sell Dawnguard with hearthfire at £10 or $10.

  2. I thought the PS3 was supposed to be a more powerful machine than the 360. What gives, Bethesda?

  3. Finally, someone leaves an update on dawnguard. I really appreciate it, even though it has took a really long time. Atleast you arent like pete hines. Better late than never, right? I just hope you guys succeed at unbugging it to release it to us. GOODLUCK!!!
