Many fans were disappointed that NBA 2K12 had no dunk contest in the game at all. NBA 2K13 includes one but it’s not the same game mode fans have seen in the past.
2K Sports first introduced the dunk contest in NBA 2K8. It played differently from EA’s NBA Live games and was arguably one of the best features of the game. They kept this until NBA 2K12 came out which got rid of it altogether.
2K Sports has now released game footage of NBA 2K13 showcasing the new dunk contest mechanics. If you’ve played “Guitar Hero” games before, you’ll recognise how this is going to look like.
