Despite all the praise and awards, many gamers have elected not to buy The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Collectors Edition. Due to the hefty price of $150 dollars, it’s hard to blame gamers, but now you can get it for $59.99 / $20 more than the vanilla game. You can currently order a copy from BestBuy (PS3, Xbox) or try your luck at Gamestop (PS3, Xbox). Neither site lists the PC version, though it is included in this sale.
If you’re still on the fence, the collectors edition is pretty good quality. The figure is two parts, so you can do whatever you want with Alduin (the dragon) and the artbook is hardbound with 200 pages of high quality images. However if you’re a fan of box art, be warned that the game comes in a special case made out of cardboard. While this is a sweet deal for new comers, fans who just want the content can simply sell the game to make up the difference. Currently BestBuy has +50% trade in bonus, which should net you around 32 dollars for the game. This would drop the cost of the items down to 30, so still a good deal.
