Earlier we reported that the Surprise Me boxes, were far from surprising. Featuring one popular item and one unpopular item (folders, shoelaces, etc), many people were glad they didn’t waste any coins on them. However, Nintendo might be thinking about bringing the mystery boxes back in the near future.
Yesterday Nintendo updated their official Facebook page, to reflect what items were in the boxes. These items fall in line with early reports of the contents and support the idea that each box had predetermined prizes. While most of them were the standard one popular and one overstock item, Mario also included the messenger bag and Peach had the Game and Watch ball game. The page also mentioned a “mysterious” unannounced item, though it was most likely the Mario Hat case found in the Peach box too. In all and all, the offerings feel extremely lop sided for the more popular characters, but since they’re taking a poll to see what people would want, so ideally we might see a tweaked idea in the future.
Regardless of the Surprise Me boxes fate, don’t forget to check Club Nintendo for a popular item to return in roughly 3 days, which might be a coy way to reference the aforementioned Mario hat. The original Luigi one sold out rather quickly and it would explain why it was a chase reward in the Surprise Me boxes. This could also lead to updated Surprise Me Boxes, Though Whatever the case, don’t forget to look into it so you don’t miss out.
