On Monday I reported how Blizzard community manager Marc Whiple had seemingly confirmed the release of the anticipated Diablo 3 on consoles, via his twitter account. On being asked whether Diablo 3 would see a console release, Whiple replied thusly:
“Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project.”
However, as affirmative as this may seem, according to Blizzard it doesn’t actually constitute confirmation of a console release.
“This is not a confirmation that Diablo 3 is coming to any console platform. Our focus right now is on finishing the PC/Mac version of Diablo 3 and making sure it’s a worthwhile successor to the Diablo series.”
Whiple’s tweet still sounds fairly affimrative for me, though perhaps this is simply Blizzard waiting for the right moment to make a grandiose announcement. Apologies for getting any hopes up with that last post.
