A fan recently asked Capcom if the reason they are releasing an HD collection for the Devil May Cry series due to the poor reception of the reboot of the Devil May Cry series. Christian Svensson, the Corporate Officer and Senior Vice-President of Capcom, was quick to shoot down these claims and give the real reason for why they are releasing it. Here is what he had to say:

First and foremost, it exists because people have asked for it (check these forums for the requests for it when the God of War 1 & 2 HD editions were announced).
It exists to give a new audience an entry point into the series (partially in hopes that they enjoy it enough to take a look at DmC).
It exists so that collectors can have all 4 games for the current generation of hardware sitting on their shelf.
