Sony Not Commenting On Poor PS Vita Sales

We at Just Push Start love the PlayStation Vita as seen in our review. Sadly though, second week sales of the PS Vita in Japan dropped dramatically. What did Sony have to say about that?

The PS Vita sold 325,000 units in its first week. Sales of the Vita dropped by 78% to only 72,000 units sold in its second week on sale. This is disappointing that the PS Vita even sold less units than the original PSP console.

Bloomberg Japan asked Sony directly for any comment regarding the poor sales figures.SCE PR head Satoshi Fukuoka just said “no comment“.

It’s sad to see the PS Vita selling so poorly over in Japan. As it’s a great device and the only portable console that cab dish out PS3-like graphics. It’s possible the price drop of the 3DS may have impacted sales as well as the rise in popularity of android phones. In either case, Sony should hope the PS Vita performs better in North America and Europe come February 22nd.

  1. Not going to happen, this little gadget is too expensive. I mean nearly $300 for this come on people would rather save that money in these hard economic times.
