Report: Xbox 720 To Be Small Physically And In Price

Microsoft has yet to announce any official details about its next video game console. However a blogger by the name of MS Nerd may have leaked some new details on the Xbox 720.

According to IGN, MS Nerd is a reputable blogger so the information regarding the Xbox 720 could turn out to be true. In any case, he says the Xbox 720’s is codenamed “loop“.

MS Nerd also claims the console will be much smaller than the Xbox 360 and cost less to produce. This has been done in hopes of achieving “higher Kinect adoption”. This strategy could mean Microsoft might be mimicking the Nintendo Wii’s success by catering for families and casual gamers.

The console is allegedly going to be based on a “modified version of the yet-to-be-announced Windows 9”. MS Nerd went on to say “It will use a Zune HD-like hardware platform—a ‘main’ processor with multiple dedicated assistive cores for graphics, AI, physics, sound, networking, encryption and sensors. It will be custom designed by Microsoft and two partners based on the ARM architecture.”

Microsoft is set to unveil official details about the Xbox 720 at E3 2012. We’ll have to wait and see if MS Nerd’s information is correct by then.
