Bioware’s Reaction to Mass Effect 3 Leaks

In case you were not aware, this year has seen more than its fair share of early leaks, broken embargos, hacks, and just plain out treachery. The Developer of the Mass Effect franchise, Bioware, has been one of the many companies affected by these events.

Recently, certain Xbox live gamers were able to get their hands on an early release of the Mass Effect 3 beta that included some modes that were never meant to be included due to some “human error” over at Microsoft.

Now it seems that there are some files floating around the internet that contain spoilers to the main story arc of Mass Effect 3. Bioware is warning gamers to stay away from these spoilers that have been leaked:

“We are still investigating, but it appears that some internal story files have been leaked,” said Jesse Houston, Producer on Mass Effect 3. “Even though the information in those files is out of date and does not reflect the final story experience, we urge fans not to read them if they want to experience the purest form of the story in Mass Effect 3.”

I will never understand people who want to leak crucial game details before a game comes out. I mean it is one thing to break an embargo a few days early, this act although not as offensive is still unacceptable, it is a completely different thing to leak crucial details of a game before the game is even completed. So if any of you decide to hunt down these files (I refuse to link them in this article) and spoil the game for yourself, keep in mind that these files may be completely inaccurate by the time the game is finalized.
