Sony expanding exclusive PSN catalogue

Beginning on October 4th Sony will be releasing an exclusive game for its PSN service every Tuesday.

In a move to bolster its online gaming presence, Sony announced today the initiative with the goal to expand its PSN service. Susan Panico, senior director of PlayStation Network, SCEA said:

‘Only On PlayStation Network’ is our line of great exclusive games that users can count on to deliver exciting game experiences that can’t be found anywhere else. This strong initial content offering, combined with the day one discounts for PlayStation Plus subscribers and the ‘Spend $60, Get $10 Back’ promotion, makes PlayStation Network the premier destination for digital content.”

The release dates for the titles are as follows…

October 4 – Eufloria and Rochard
October 11 – Sideway: New York
October 13 – Sodium Collection
October 18 – Okabu and RocketBirds
October 25 – inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller.

Perhaps interestingly enough is how Sony will be releasing a handful of classic PS2 games for the PSN service. Such titles include God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red.

It’s certainly a good day to be a PSN network and I’m sure many customers peeved at Sony’s recent troubles with the PSN will be pleased to see some solid exclusive content coming their way.
