No Wii Titles Out? Blame The Wii U, Not The 3DS

Personally, when all I saw on the Wii release list was Skyward Sword, Kirby’s Return To Dreamland and a few other non-mentionables, I started blaming the 3DS as fast as I could. Poor little Nintendo poured their hopes and dreams into that little-console-that-could…cause-eyeball-strain.

But I don’t need to develop a grudge, we’re told by Nintendo, for it’s the Wii U and it’s upcoming 2012 splendor that mar the console’s impending releases.

“Strong momentum is very important for game platform businesses and a strong software line-up to vitalise a platform is necessary to maintain this momentum,”

With the 3DS off to a sketchy start, Nintendo and Satoru Iwata is determined to not make the same mistakes.

“As we learned a bitter lesson with the launch of the Nintendo 3DS, we are trying to take every possible measure so that the Wii U will have a successful launch,”

Stay tuned to see how truly Iwata’s words ring.

Wil Taylor

Wil Taylor

My name is Wil Taylor, an ex-rabid Nintendo fanboy until only a few years ago, a crazy man in a crazy hat showed me that games could be much more than Mario. I buckled up tight and gripped my respective controllers and decided that I was going to come up along-side the new wave of gaming and focus on the interactive mediums. Because seriously, how often does humanity discover an entirely new medium for art? Also, blowing up things is neat too. My favorite games are Bastion, Portal, BlazBlue, Street Fighter, Super Meat Boy and Saints Row.
