Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia has announced that pre-orders for Battlefield 3 has already topped 1.5 million units.
In terms of figures, it is a higher estimate than those from EA’s own Eric Brown. He estimated pre-order figure to be 1.25 million units.
Bhatia (and many others) have predicted Battlefield 3 sales of the game will easily surpass those of its predecessor, Battlefield: Bad Company 2. That game shipped 9.5 million copies worldwide. With the amount of media coverage the game is having, it’s expected to happen.
Players can get a chance to play Battlefield 3 when the beta hits on September 29th. The full game is due out on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC from October 27th.
