Robert Bowling recently made a statement in an interview that defended Modern Warfare 3 from all of the criticism it is getting relating it to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the 7/7 bombing in England. In the interview Bowling stated: “I’m not too worried about it because the conflict that’s raging in Modern Warfare 3 is very different from any real life scenario because this is a war, this is a full-on Russian military invasion of the entire US that started in Modern Warfare. They have already disabled Washington DC and the war has just organically been progressing off the East Coast.”
Hopefully this will help keep any bad press away from Infinity Ward and their next hit in the Call of Duty series. It’s one thing when a developer intentionally makes things controversial but it is a completely different thing when journalists start digging up reasons to bash on the game by relating it to past events.
