In Final Fantasy XIII, the game puts Lightning as the main character as she finds her long lost sister, Serah. This time, in the upcoming sequel, the situation shifts as Serah will be the lead character in the game.
In a private session of Final Fantasy XIII-2 last week, the representative of Square Enix discussed why Serah is the main character. Following Serah’s rescue in Final Fantasy XIII, Lightning has gone missing and it’s up to Serah to find her. In XIII-2, players will get to play as both characters, telling the story of why Lightning went missing from two different perspectives. For the most part, Serah will team up with Mog and Noel as they find Lightning. Don’t worry though, the game will be narrated by Lightning!
At the end of our demo session with Square Enix, they showed us a brief battle scene between Lightning and Chaos Bahamut. Following the battle, the representative stopped the demo to prevent us from knowing what happens next. Could it be that Lightning was imprisoned by an Eidolon? We’ll find out next year when Square Enix releases Final Fantasy XIII-2.E3 2011: Final Fantasy XIII-2 Puts Serah as Main Character,
