According to French tech site 01net, some features on the NGP have been stripped in order to cut its production costs.
The main reason behind this is to compete with Nintendo 3DS’ price tag of $249. The NGP was orginally going to have 512MB RAM but that has been cut in half to only 256MB RAM. The NGP will no longer have 16GB of internal memory and it will just rely on external memory cards.
It looks like the NGP won’t be the powerhouse as originally thought but the good thing is that it will be within the price range that most people can afford.
