Two days following its big release in North America, Homefront will be receiving a patch tonight for the PS3 that fixes the freezing issues that was reported yesterday.
As for the Xbox 360, KAOS and THQ said that they are currently working on a title update that will address most of the issues found. No further release date as to when the title update for the Xbox 360 version will go live.
For players who are using the PC, a small patch was released today fixing the minor issues found in the game.
Now that the patch on the PlayStation 3 is now live, let’s hope it will be smoother than before. Below is the list of fixes that players can expect when they download the new patch.
• Fixes for intermittent problems accepting friend invites and joining friends’ games
• Several fixes for reported freezes
• Fixes related to joining matches, round transitions, and proper behavior on the match recap screen
• Additional bug fixes, including inaccuracies in ping meter, and player hosted servers not properly pulling score/time limit settings
Super happy to be getting a fix, but something’s a touch rotten. A patch pushed out in two days that addresses all the freezing? There’s no way this has gotten adequate testing to either verify the crashes are gone or to ensure it didn’t cause other problems. Even if it did have the time to get fully vetted, was it tested by the same team that let all the crashes through in the first place?
I suppose they might have known about these issues and were hoping to have a day one patch ready and missed it by a couple days. In fact, that seems fairly likely to me. I’m still happy to be getting the fixes but it makes me feel like THQ made Kaos push an unfinished game out the door.
Ok I play on ps3 and this patch fixed nothing for me after waiting for the patch to download and install I started up the game went to multiplayer and in my very first match freeze… so I hard reset reload the game play a second match and its ok… third match freezes again at this point I am thinking wow this game truly was not worth the money and finally play a short fourth round and in the lobby I am checking on my kills that should be way higher but are not due to games I played well and froze so I of course get no credit at all the game freezes again and I cannot take it so I just turned off the game and hope they fix it or it will be back to COD a title that at least will let me play even if the game itself is not perfect… please fix issues or THQ will never be seen in my house because this game is horrible right now you cannot do anything… should have not made impulse buy and just stuck with COD even though it is to easy and boring at this point….
Yea this game is worth being a beer coaster, the online is looking like some old washed up pc game from the 90’s..the single player story is pretty good, but there was not much going into the multiplayer, and these days don’t even add mp if you cant do it right. test this shit before it comes out. or charge 20$ for it out the gate so I know it might suck.
