Within 24 hours of being released to the world Cataclysm had managed to sell a staggering record breaking amount of copies coming in at 3.3 million worldwide. Now this third expansion to the massive popular PC game, World of Warcraft, has broken yet another record during its release for this past month. Topping its recent predecessor, Wraith of the Lich King, by having 4.7 million copies bought in just a months time.
Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, responded with a statement announcing his shock and thanking the WOW community for being so passionate about World of Warcraft.
