Famistu.com has reported that New Super Mario Bros. is the first ever Nintendo DS game to sell over 6 million copies in Japan alone.
The exact figure last reported on Boxing Day was at 6,015,255 units. The game was originally released back in May 25, 2006.
The Wii version of New Super Mario Bros is no slacker either having sold over 4 million copies in Japan.
