Ubisoft and Aardman To Create Rabbids TV Show

It looks as if Ubisoft’s iconic “Rabbid ” creatures will star in their own animated TV show thanks to a partnership with Aardman.

Ubisoft and Aardman announced today that they will create a pilot and several animated short clips based upon The Rabbids.

The Rabbids first appeared in the video game Rayman Raving Rabbids released in 2006. From there, the characters proved their popularity starring in more games with a new one already releasing this November called Raving Rabbids Travel in Time.

Aardman is an animation studio based in the UK and is famous for producing the likes of Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit.

Miles Bullough, Head of Broadcast at Aardman had this to say:

“When the opportunity arose to work with Ubisoft on the Rabbids we leapt at it, we absolutely love the characters and can’t wait to help bring them to a television audience.”

Xavier Poix, managing director of Ubisoft’s French studios also commented:

“The not-so-subtle humour of the Rabbids has made them into icons in and beyond video games. Aardman perfectly understands that humour and we are extremely excited to be working with them to bring the Rabbids to a new medium and a new audience.”
