A new ruling has been made on the Sony PlayStation 3 modchip, in Australia. A injunction has been made by Australia’s Federal Court in favour of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia which blocks the sale, import and offloading of the PS3 modchip in any way.
While this seems like a complete victory for Sony Computer Entertainment Australia the injunction is in fact only temporary. Lasting until August 31st Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has to persuade the courts to make it a permanent ban.
Of course this could set a legal president on these modchip PS3s for across the world but if Sony fails to convince the courts on September 1st legal sales of the device will start up.
So can I still order 1 to ship to me in the USA? BTW do you know the price of 1 of usb modchips?
