Top Gun Flying Exclusively to PSN

‘Talk to me, Goose. Talk to me.’

Fans of the film will be excited to hear that Maverick and crew are flying again in Top Gun exclusive to the PlayStation Network. The game is scheduled for a summer release with doublesix as developer and Paramount Digital Entertainment being the publisher.

For some reason, I can’t get Konami’s Top Gun game for the NES out of my head while I’m writing this. I’m just hoping there aren’t any impossibly difficult landing and refueling segments here. Arrgghhh

Players will take to the skies as Maverick from the movie, as they shoot down enemy fighter planes in intense dogfights. Top Gun has been described as a “free-flying air combat shooter” that will offer gamers a more in-depth combat experience than what was portrayed in the original film. Prepare to face multiple targets at land, sea, and air as you take on several missions against the Soviets.

Top Gun will include a single-player Campaign and Horde Mode as well as five multiplayer modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Top Gun (gun other enemy pairs down along with your wingman), Capture the Flag, and Bombing Run (an attack and defend the base game type).

No details regarding the price yet. Now excuse me as I try to recollect some cheesy lines from the movie.
