PS3 3D Compatible Titles Coming on June 10th; More Details Revealed

SCEJ announced today that the first games to go 3D on the PlayStation 3 will be arriving on the PlayStation Store starting on June 10th.

For titles such as PAIN, Wipeout HD, and Stardust HD, gamers will be receiving a patch to enable 3D when you are playing the game. PAIN will have to pay extra to unlock the 3D feature while Wipeout HD and Stardust HD will be available for free by simply downloading the patch. In addition with the 3D graphics, gamers will also experience a 3D stereo sound.

When the 3D Bravia TV comes out this year, it will contain a voucher code that unlocks the first 3D game titles on the PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Store. The games will be PAIN, Wipeout HD, Stardust HD, and the demo of Motorstorm 2. The campaign will start on June 6, 2010.

Movie lovers can expect 3D Blu-Ray movies to arrive later this year.

There is currently no word about the plans of SCEA for North America. We should hear from them later this week about this news. Expect a big push on 3D by SCEA and SCEJ in the coming months.

  1. “PAIN will have to pay extra to unlock the 3D feature while Wipeout HD and Stardust HD will be available for free”

    Look at that!
    F**KING retarded and greedy!

I will have to buy a new tv just to play 3D games, whereas I recently bought a 42inch HD TV. Also I have to pay extra to play a game in 3D!?

Are these publishers that f**king greedy????
We have EA who wants to charge $10 for online pay if the game is used.
Publishers who keep charging DLC content on disc
and now we have publishers who will start charging for patches to make a game go 3D.

If you want people to use 3D, you don’t charge for it!

MY god! It’s such a shame there are half retards gamers in these world who don’t even know WTF is going on and they are getting ripped off so bad every time! Idiots who will pay 1200p just for 4 map packs.

If we actually have people with brains, we gamers can protest against all these greedy bullsh these publishers are pulling off to rip us gamers.
