New Silent Hill Revealed For “Next-Gen Consoles”

As Konami’s Gamers Night 2010 event came to a close the attendees got a little surprise.  A trailer started playing and a blonde-haired man could be seen waking up on a public bench surrounded by fog.  The character looks around in a state of confusion as sounds of footsteps close in.  The footsteps end up belonging to some creatures and one of them attacks the man.  At this point the screen cuts to black and the tags “End the Silence” and “E3” were displayed.

Although there was no title given to the game at any point during the trailer it has already been assumed that this is the next Silent Hill.  According to different sources, Konami had stated that the next Silent Hill was in the works already by a new and unknown developer.  That means it will not be the same people who brought us the disappointing Silent Hill: Homecoming.  At the event it was said that the game was slated for “next-gen consoles” and I believe we are all right in assuming that means PS3 and 360 for now.  More speculation arose concerning the character in the trailer.  The blonde-haired man seemed to resemble James Sunderlan from Silent Hill 2.  A remake of the second game is plausible given that the first Silent Hill was remade on the Wii, PS2, and PSP earlier this year.  Unfortunately, we will have to wait until E3 in June for some solid information.
