Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC Missions Are Not Part Of The Main Story Confirms Rockstar

Some fans were upset when Rockstar revealed that there will be some side missions in the game locked behind a paid pay wall. Well now Rockstar has responded to the criticism saying that these missions won’t affect people’s investment in the main story of the game.

Rockstar Games made this confirmation over on its official Twitter page earlier this week. Here’s what was posted about Red Dead Redemption 2: “The Bank Robbery and Gang Hideout included in the RDR2 Special Edition are side activities created specifically for that edition and are not part of the main story.

While it’s great to know that the main story of the game is complete, it’s still upsetting for some gamers knowing they will not be receiving ALL of the missions that the game has to offer unless they pay extra money. It sounds like the missions cannot be unlocked by simply just playing through the game itself.

Withholding content behind a paywall is nothing new in the gaming industry as game publishers have been doing this for several years now. It is annoying, but game publishers usually do this so that they can fill their pre-order quota.
