Nintendo Switch Online Launches Sep 2018; Mario Kart Game Heading To Mobile Devices

Nintendo has made several blockbuster announcements today with a lot of new things coming within the next 365 days. This includes the Switch online service as well as another one of its most popular IPs heading to mobile devices again.

Anyway, the paid Nintendo Switch online service is finally coming to the console in September 2018. As of right now, playing multiplayer games on the console remains to be free.

Much like PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold, you will have to pay a monthly fee to gain access to play online multiplayer video games. Nintendo also promises you will get other benefits as well, although specific details are to be announced at a later date.

Nintendo also revealed that it is releasing a brand new Mario Kart video game that will be playable for you on mobile devices. The game is called Mario Kart Tour. Announcement can be seen below.

The checkered flag has been raised and the finish line is near. A new mobile application is now in development: Mario Kart Tour! Releasing in the fiscal year ending in March 2019.

The last announcement regarding new Mario projects is that Nintendo is wanting to make an animated Mario movie. As you might already know, the first live action Mario film was atrocious and this scared Nintendo from making another movie ever again.

This time things will be different because Shigeru Miyamoto will serve as one of the co-producers. Not to mention it will be animated so the characters should look the same this time around. Illumination Entertainment is producing the film with Universal Pictures set to distribute it worldwide. Details are small at this time, but hopefully bigger things are revealed in the near future very soon.
