Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Games will be Released When Available

Xbox one Backwards January 2016

With the release of the next wave of Xbox One backwards compatibility games today, Microsoft announced that future titles for backwards compatibility will now be released as soon as they become available.

What this means is, gamers will no longer have to wait every month for Microsoft to release the next batch of titles. Whenever Microsoft receives the go sign from publishers, they will immediately put it and make everyone be able to download it.

Based on your feedback, the Xbox Engineering team will start to pilot a new way to launch Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles. Starting today, we’ll release titles as they become available, rather than a set monthly launch date. What this means for you is that you won’t have to wait to find out the latest titles; we’ll release whatever is available, when they’re available, once each title has received the engineering and publisher stamp of approval.

Here are the latest Xbox 360 games that are now playable on Xbox One:

– The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
– Sam & Max Save the World
– Aegis Wing
– Counter-Strike: GO
– Age of Booty
– Space Giraffe
– Soulcalibur
– Skullgirls
– Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
– Small Arms

Don’t forget that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is free to download until February 5.
