Dream Sony Wishlist For E3 2014

Sony (1)

Even with many other companies trying to get into the mix, the big three gaming companies are still Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. We already put together a dream wishlist of what we most wanted to see from Nintendo at E3 2014, some more realistic than others, so it makes sense to do the same with our other two contenders. For today’s list, we are going to focus on Sony.

Sony currently has three relevant systems on the market, but the PlayStation 3 will definitely be the least exciting of the three at E3. As a result, most of the list will focus on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

The Last Guardian on PlayStation 4

Sony (7)
How could we start a Sony list without this one? With the rebranding of Final Fantasy XV last year after 7 years, The Last Guardian is definitely the most secretive game that we know about out there. Since its initial reveal, we have seen little to nothing about the game from Team Ico. Originally scheduled to release on PlayStation 3, it almost has to be a PlayStation 4 only title at this point. Team Ico brings absolutely beautiful games to us and they would have to provide us with the best possible graphics, that the PlayStation 3 just cannot provide anymore. What I really want to see if the full re-unveiling of The Last Guardian for PlayStation 4, complete with a new trailer and release window.

The Return Of Crash Bandicoot

Sony (8)
During the heyday of the original PlayStation, Crash Bandicoot was as synonymous with the PlayStation brand as anyone. Crash Bandicoot came from the brain of Naughty Dog, but later moved on to other developers. Just imagine if it was announced that Sony bought back the rights to Crash after all this time, which is constantly rumored, and developed it either in-house or with a new team at Naughty Dog.

Spyro Rising From The Ashes

Sony (6)
Just like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro was incredibly important for the original PlayStation. Unlike Crash, there is almost no way Sony would get the exclusive rights back to this property, as Activision has the rights and uses him within the popular Skylanders. However, even if its not exclusive to the system, I just want to see a new quality Spyro game on the PlayStation 4.

Abundance of Kingdom Hearts III Footage

Sony (4)
Last year, we saw the much awaited reveal of Kingdom Hearts III at E3, but for the most part haven’t received much new footage or info outside of one Disney event. The game should be much further along in the process at this point and it would be awesome to see a full reveal trailer this time around, rather than just a mere teaser. Show us some new characters we will meet to get us speculating, as well as some Disney and Final Fantasy characters that will be new to the series. While this game is also going to be on the Xbox One, Sony got the teaser trailer last year at their conference, so I have a feeling they may get it again this year.

Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD

Sony (2)
This one is one of the more unlikely ones, as we’ve still yet to see the release of Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX. However, upon the release of the latest compilation, Dream Drop Distance will be the only entry in the series not to get the HD treatment. This one could work as a digital download, or be included in a combined release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5 HD together, possibly even on PlayStation 4. If this happens, it would more than likely not be until next year, but that’s why this is a dream wishlist.

Final Fantasy XII HD Remake

Sony (3)
This is one that was going to originally be on my list, but pretty much became a definite when the rumors of such a game surfaced earlier this week. Following the successful remake of Final Fantasy X/X-2 in full HD, it just makes sense to move to the next PlayStation 2 Final Fantasy game in line. The PlayStation games would take a lot more work to remaster than this one, so while working on Final Fantasy XV, this could be a worthy time filler for the fans. I never did end up playing much of this game for whatever reason, so I’d love to have a chance to finally play through it all, this time in glorious HD.

Uncharted PS4

Sony (5)
Just like The Legend of Zelda Wii U was a pretty foregone conclusion on the Nintendo list, this one is pretty much a definite to see at the show. Uncharted for PlayStation 4 debuted a teaser trailer late last year, so it would just make sense to get a full look at one of Sony’s flagship franchises. We know next to nothing about this game, from the setting to what characters are involved, so it’s about time to get those questions answered.

Uncharted Trilogy For PS4

Sony (11)
If there is any series from the PlayStation 3 that deserves to get an upgrade for the PlayStation 4, it’s definitely the Uncharted series. Bringing Naughty Dog to prominence once again, Uncharted reigned supreme thanks to interesting characters and story. However, wouldn’t it be great to play it again all in one compilation when it looks better than ever?

PS Vita TV Rebrand

Sony (9)
When PS Vita TV was announced last year, it seemed incredibly intriguing as a way to play Vita games on your television with ease, while also allowing you to use your PlayStation 4 all over your house without the need to move the system around. Sadly, the PS Vita TV disappointed in its Asian market release last year and hasn’t shown any sign of coming stateside. I believe that a massive showing of this at E3, perhaps with a few changes, could really make this something that could sell, especially with the success of the PlayStation 4.

System Seller for the PS Vita

Sony (10)
This is obviously the most vague answer on the list, but I felt it was best that way. The PS Vita has been moderately successful, but still has struggled to find a massive audience, even with the interactively between the handheld and the PlayStation 4. The rumored PS4/Vita bundle should help, but games are always the big difference. The handheld just needs some major system sellers exclusive to the Vita, and hopefully Sony has some games up their sleeves this year.
