Awhile back, reports surfaced that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze would be outputting at 1080p. However, that has now been said to not be true according to Nintendo.
GameXplain spoke with Nintendo about the game at an event and asked about the game, where they were told that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is native 720p, but will upscale to 1080p. This is while running 60 frames per second as well.
While this may sound very disappointing, the absolutely gorgeous and smooth Super Mario 3D World worked the same way, so it may not be as big of a deal as it sounds. We will just have to see when we finally get our hands on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on February 21.
