Battlefield 4′s Release Window Revealed

Following EA’s Q1 2013 Earnings Relations Call, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau confirmed further development and future plans of its flagship FPS’s.

Gibeau announced “We are aiming to have the next product in the Battlefield franchise in [Fiscal 14],” which means for fans of the series between April 2013 and March 2014.

In regard to the next instalment of the Medal of Honor franchise, Gibeau outlined that they worked with “the goal of building a sustainable long-term franchise…” in mind. The sequel, Warfighter, brings the Frostbite engine and some resources from Swedish developer DICE on board.

As EA has released all of its AAA titles in October, Medal of Honor and Battlefield 3 being released October 14th 2010 and 28th 2011 respectively, the FY14 launch window adds credence that Battlefield 4 will release in October 2013.

The official announcement arrives weeks after Battlefield 4 was leaked on EA’s digital platform Origin, offering access to its beta upon the pre-ordering of Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Biographically speaking, I’ve always wanted to write professionally as I’ve always been something of an amateur writer; I am now studying for Journalism at a University in the UK. Games are my favourite entertainment medium, so writing about them is perfect, in four years I hope to be older. ;)
