Gravity Rush: Rare Nevi Guide

As you progress in Gravity Rush, you will have the opportunity to fight a few special bosses. These bosses are far more difficult than normal enemies and reward you with 1,000 gems, plus a trophy. Since they’re pretty well hidden, this guide will show you their location and how to defeat them.

General Tips

  • These fights don’t need to be done on your first encounter, so if you’re having problems, feel free to come back. However you need to finish chapter 17 before you can return to the rift planes.
  • Upgrading your health will give you 100% health.
  • Make sure to level your Gravity Kick and Gauge Usage
  • Special attacks don’t work on rare Nevi.
  • Be aware of where the green gems are, as you will most likely lose health fast.

Ancient Game Hunter – Rift Planes: The Ruins

Location:

After the second flower, you will make it to this area with the third flower. While this place is pretty interesting, the real objective is actually under this building.

Jump over the edge and keep rushing to the bottom. Don’t worry about hitting the void, as it’s a long drop. Towards the bottom you will see this structure, which is almost your goal. Shortly after this the building will end, but there will be a opening on the bottom. Change directions and go into the hole. Here you will find the Nevi, which you can see pictured below.

Strategy:

The second you see the Nevi, you want to gravity kick him. This will force him to run after you, which will also void his distance attack. From here, simply dodge his attacks and kick him till he starts moving again. Be warned that he does a LOT of damage, so make sure to use those green gems wisely.

Burning Game Hunter – Rift Planes: The Inferno

Location:

Once you make it to the second flower, you will be in this general area. Here you will need to fight some nevi, but they shouldn’t be an issue. After you kill them, you’re ready to fight the rare nevi.

If you look over the edge you should see this road like structure below, which leads to the nevi. Simply jump down and look for a new path.

The path you’re looking for looks like this and will have a special dialog before entering.

Once inside, the rare nevi will spawn, so make sure you can handle it.

Strategy:

This fight is all about the Gravity Kick, but thankfully hes pretty easy to trick. If you’re directly above his head, he should constantly use his burst move, which shouldn’t hit you unless you’re too close. This basically means you can get 1 – 2 kicks in before he attacks, so it’s too bad. However make sure to watch your life / gauge as one error can easily kill you. Additionally if you leave the area for any reason, he will try to punch you, though it’s easily dodged if you just fly by him nonstop.

Illusory Game Hunter – Rift Planes: The Mirage

Location:

Unlike the other two nevi, this one is very simple to find. When you get to the third flower, simply had to the satellite for the fight.

Here’s a larger version of the structure with the boss flying around.

Finally this is what the boss looks like up close.

Strategy:

Unlike the other bosses, you can only use Gravity Kick on this Nevi. Additionally it is nearly impossible to do it the first time you encounter him, so I strongly suggest not even attempting the fight till chapter 17. As far as actually fighting him, I found that using your Spiraling Claw will ignore his attacks, so you can use that for a hit or two. Additionally he is pretty easy to hit if you’re constantly moving around. If you’re still having problems, then you might have better luck just dodging his attacks. If you go this route, make sure you time it out well or you will most likely get hurt. He is the hardest fight, so expect at least some problems.

  1. So, I’ve finished the game… how do i return to the rift planes? Where do I go to get back there?

I don’t see it anywhere on the map, and there is no option to warp there from the sewer… does anyone know?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. @ Jeff

Well you’re told how to do it via story, so it’s ALWAYS good to pay attention via dialog. To return, simply talk to Gade (standing next to your house) and he will offer you a return ticket. The girl on the other side (forget her name), will also offer you passage to the kid world.
