BioShock Film Loses Its Director

The film adaptation for the BioShock movie has lost its director and the project is still on hold at the moment.

The BioShock film was first announced back in 2008 but a lot of factors have prevented production on the film to actually start. One of the major things stopping the film from being made is the escalated budget among other things.

Former attached director for the film, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo spoke to The Playlist about the current state of the BioShock film.

“To be honest, by now, I’m completely out of that, and developing other stuff. Right now it’s on hold. The studio and the video game company, they have to reach some kind of agreement about the budget and the rating.”

The budget may and rating may be things that Hollywood studios might want to think about. Disney lost a lot of money investing $250 million to make John Carter. If BioShock has an R rating like the games, then it will lose more money since less people can watch the film in cinemas…

Do you think the BioShock movie will ever be made?
