Jens Bergensten, one of the Mojang team working on Minecraft, has today revealed one of the new features he’s working on for Minecraft Beta 1.9.
Even though 1.8 has only just been released Jens has already started work on Minecraft beta 1.9, revealing that he is developing “Minecraft’s armor system”. Jens has commented on the armor system that “the two small changes I’m making to armor is 1) slightly better durability and 2) simpler armor value calculation (not based on durability)”.
It seems that the second half of the adventure update is going to be full of great content but would you rather wait a long time until 1.9 and have lots of content or see it being released soon with less? Comment your opinions below.
Hi i love minecraft and one of my favorite parts of it is that every month or whatever there is new content that I get to enjoy. When 1.8 came out I was overwhelmed by how much stuff there was in it now. I would rather have 1.9 come out soon (or 1.8.1 or whatever) and get some new stuff then later get more stuff. Thanks.

Minecraft actually has armor already, it’s just weird and minimally useful.
Sooner and less because it is not easy to learn everything about 1.8 and learning everything one step at a time is easier

well, i’d rather there be multiple small updates (1.8.2 having NPCs in the NPC villages, 1.8.3 having new armor, etc.) and 1.9 being the final update, and 2.0 being the full version in november.
I want npc’s to come out soon and the rest can be released later :>
