Amazon Japan Reveals Its Best Selling Games Over The Last Ten Years

It’s been ten years since Amazon Japan started in 2001. The site has now revealed its top ten best selling games from the last ten years of its inception.

The best selling game from Amazon Japan was Dragon Quest IX: Protectors of the Starry Sky for the Nintendo DS. Second place went to RPG juggernaut Final Fantasy XIII with the third spot going to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. There were no Xbox titles in the top ten which is understandable, as the Xbox brand has never been popular in Japan.

Here are the top ten best selling games from Amazon Japan (Summary Period: October 1 through June 30, 2001 – 2010):

1: Dragon Quest IX: Protectors of the Starry Sky (DS)
2: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
3: New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
4: Wii Fit (“Wii Balance Board” included) (Wii)
5: Tomodachi (DS)
6: Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (PSP)
7: Dragon Quest VIII: Journey cursed land and sea and sky (PS2)
8: New Super Mario Bros. (DS)
9: Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)
10: Final Fantasy XII (PS2)
